You've got to admit, the effects were pretty impressive for those days. I also prefer these effects to the lazy CGI effects of new Doctor Who. These are the days when they put effort in :P

DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW LONG CGI TAKES FOR PROFESSIONALS?!!!! MONTHS! I'VE GOT CGI SOFTWARE AT HOME AND IT AIN'T EASY, EVEN FOR PROFESSIONALS, ESPECIALLY WHEN GETTING GOOD QUALITY EFFECTS!

I mean lazy as in the fact that it's easier to do CGI then to actually build something and make it fly (for example)
