Apologies to all for bumping an old topic, but I just discovered this and Joe, Kindle is an electronic book-reading service offered by Amazon.

Apology accepted. However, please be more thorough next time, especially when the topic in question only comprises two pages.

Apologies for a double-post. However, given the fact that the topic has been dead for 14 months and has slipped to nearly page three in the English Language section, I feel if I don't give it a bump with a new post, the topic will be lost to the annals of time...
Anyway, having had Kindle for a few months, I can safely say it will never truly replace books, serving only to coexist alongside them in perpetuity. I love the Kindle for trying new books, or getting books such as Animal Farm which I'd never buy hard copies of, but I do like my hard library!
